WHO WE ARE
2AD is a subsidiary of Bolder Games, an immersive media company founded in 2009. Bolder Games has collaborated with clients like Google, Microsoft, and Disney, crafting and animating interactive experiences worldwide.
Two years ago, the 2AD team created an AI character for the Disney Star Wars Galaxy Hotel. An AI character is a human-like entity capable of responding to guests’ questions based on its unique personality. The applications of AI characters are limitless. Consider gaming and the metaverse, where NPCs using AI could engage in fluid conversations with players, offering endless interactions and prompting them to discover the right dialogue to unlock the next mission. Similarly, in customer support, an AI character could possess comprehensive real-time knowledge about a product.
The possibilities are extensive. However, during our initial creation of the AI Character for Disney, it took us over a year to complete. The aforementioned solutions wouldn’t be feasible if each NPC required took more than a year to develop and cost millions of dollars. This entry barrier motivated us to develop 2AD, an engine capable of animating any character in real-time. Thanks to 2AD, the most recent AI character we crafted was completed in just three days.
